Drawing while driving (carvings in a whale tooth's), 2023
wild clay collected from: Westfjords of Icelaland (Borgarnes, Dritvik, Eiriksstadir, Laugar) Kyläsaari, Vartiosaari, Viikki and Savela in Helsinki, Kurängen in Sipoo and the Świętokrzyskie region in Poland, binding agent, water.
The work is a set of 10 window paintings painted using scavenged clay. Following her operating mode of material spiritualism, the earthy colour palette comes from a mixture using binding agents and various wild clays acquired while travelling in remote regions In September 2023 the artist travelled across Iceland in search of clay and ash. Using her hands and different tools on the wet clay, the resulting series of drawings and paintings are inspired by the volcanic landscape, energy portals, legends and myths, and spiritual encounters, rhythmically composed using the material of clay.
